How does Location Station differ from other location listing directories?
Location Station is NOT a listing directory. We’re a location marketing management company that specializes in connecting location managers (film/TV/commercial/events, etc.) with properties that suit their production needs. We provide a curated portfolio of properties that are exclusive to Location Station. We represent the property owners to negotiate property rental fees, scheduling, onsite management and representation, and ensure the property is returned in the same condition, if not better...when the rental term is complete.
What type of properties is Location Station looking for?
Location Station is looking for all types of properties including: residential homes to commercial properties and everything in between. You name it...we are looking for it!
What is the average property location rental term?
Most film productions are looking for short-term rentals, which average 3-5 days. If a property is selected for an ongoing series, there may be several rounds of short-term bookings, or several weeks of continuous filming. At the point in which there is interest in a property, Location Station provides the property owner with the scope of the production and how many days will be involved.
How much is my property worth?
Great question! Location Station evaluates each property to determine the best market value for a production rental. This includes the per day rental fee, potential minimum term of the rental, uniqueness of the property, production type, etc. Location Station works on a 100% commission basis so it is in everyone’s best interest...including our own...to set a fair and realistic location rental rate. Every production is unique and it is our goal to get a fair market value for our clients.
How will my property be monitored during a production rental?
Location Station provides an onsite representative for every property we’re managing during the production stage. Depending on the scale of the property, there may be multiple Location Station representatives on site.
How will my property be marketed as a prospective film location?
Every property is unique in their location, features and neighborhood and we promote all aspects. We introduce all new properties (unless otherwise requested) to our network of location management professionals. Additionally, we do outbound marketing and promotion via entertainment industry outlets to ensure all properties are given the proper exposure. Property photos, videos, floor plans, etc. will be used to promote every location we represent.
When will I see my first rental?
There are no guarantees on rentals and timeline varies, based on the type of production. From the point in which a production IS interested in a property, it can take anywhere from six months to 12 to 18 months to shoot. In some cases, the turnaround time will be quicker. Location Station works to find the best possible locations for the film, TV, commercial and special event production industry within our portfolio. We’re on the cutting edge of what the location managers are searching for, however, as the market changes, so does the need. Our firm has a team of experts that have the insider scoop on what is trending. If your property is in our portfolio...hold tight! How will I know that my property has been rented?
Your Location Station representative will confirm via email and by phone that your property has caught the interest of a production scout and provide the details, such as the rental dates, fees, etc. Once a final agreement has been reached, both the property owner and production company representative will sign-off on the rental.
How can I update the dates my property is available for rent?
As things come up and your property is unavailable for production bookings, please contact your Location Station representative and they’ll update your account. You can call us at 888.488.0886 or email us at info@location-station.com.
What happens if my property is damaged during a production rental?
All rental agreements outline the insurance coverage for each respective property, upfront. In the unfortunate event that the property is damaged during a production rental, the production company is liable for covering the cost of repairs. Location Station will oversee the entire process to ensure the property is returned to the property owner in the same, if not better condition...when the rental term is complete. All productions are required to obtain a property release from the owner and Location Station approving that the production has left the property in acceptable condition.
Can I access the property while it’s being rented?
No. During the rental process, the renters will have full access to the property, as that is what they’re paying for. In extreme circumstances, there is a potential for arrangements to be made, however it is not advised. Please contact your Location Station representative for more details.
When will Location Station come out to shoot photos and videos of my property?
Your Location Station representative will coordinate an appropriate time to come out to photograph and video the property that works for both parties, after an agreement has been signed. To get the initial account set-up, we can use photographs provided by the homeowner, or we can pull from previous real estate listings.
My property is part of a Homeowners Association (HOA) can I still list my property?
If your property is part of Homeowners Association, we will need to contact the HOA to find out if filming is allowed in your neighborhood. Location Station is happy to coordinate on this. Please call us at 888.488.0886 or email us at info@location-station.com.

How do I list my property?
If you are interested in having Location Station market and represent your property, residential, commercial or otherwise, please go to our List Your Property U.S. page or our List Your Property International page to register, sign-off on our market representation agreement, and provide your property address and provide details about your listing. If you have multiple properties for our consideration, there is an option to select on that page, with further instructions. An email confirmation will be sent out to you once you have completed the registration process. The entire process should take 10- 15 minutes.
